Iowa Medicare Rural Hospital Flexibility Program

Mission Statement: Working as partners in fostering an integrated, dynamic, yet sustainable rural healthcare system that provides the highest quality of care

The FLEX program consists of five core components:

Rural Health Planning
Support of existing Critical Access Hospitals and Eligible Hospitals
Improvement and Integration of EMS Services
Improving Quality of Care,
Development and Implementation of Rural Health Networks

The program is intended to preserve access to primary and emergency health care services, improve quality of rural health services, provide health services that meet community needs, and foster a health delivery system that is both efficient and effective.
