This data set if just one of many available to the public, researchers, and public health partners as part of the Iowa Public Health Tracking Portal. The portal was designed to provide access to health and environmental information for Iowa. It's part of a national effort by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to make environmental health data more available to the public and policymakers.
The health and environmental data is collected and shared with the portal from multiple sources:
- IDPH Vital Records Program
- Iowa Hospital Association
- Iowa Department of Natural Resources
- Iowa Cancer Registry and Iowa Registry for Congenital and Inherited Disorders.
